Meet your Maximyse 2019 MC

Marnus “Pottie” Kruger
Marnus Kruger has been married for 12 years and is the proud father of two beautiful girls. He is better known by his nickname “Pottie”, a shorter name for the Afrikaans word “potlood”, which means pencil. He got the nickname as a student in the hostel one day, standing next to his friend who was named, “Uitveer” which is Afrikaans for “eraser”. Needless to say that they always had to be together, since a pencil can’t go without an eraser.[show_more more=”More” less=”Less”]
He works full-time as an account manager for a company within the EOH group of companies, which provides wireless communication networks for both surface and underground mining operations. As a hobby, he also enjoys comedy and is a part of the cast for a rugby show called “Chat Bietjie Ball”. The show is published on social media platforms under the “Radio Raps” brand of famous Afrikaans comedian, Jonathan. Like most South Africans, they also share a big passion for rugby and on the show, they talk about it with a weekly panel of guests. These guests are a few famous rugby personalities that Marnus impersonates.
Subsequent to the success of the “Chat Bietjie Ball” production, Marnus was offered an opportunity to be a presenter of a TV show called “My Hart Klop Rugby” for the VIA channel. Because it’s a world cup year, the show focussed on loyal rugby supporters, getting to know these supporters and allowing them to showcase their rugby collections while having them partake in fun games throughout the show.[/show_more]
